Doubts & Stouts is a pop-up, theology pub style conversation group where we talk about life and faith and our questions about both. Whether you go to church every Sunday, you haven't been in a long time, or this is your first venture out into a faith community, you are very welcome here. 

This Lent, we are doing a weekly series on Sundays at 5:30pm. We'll alternate between Riverside Commons and places out in the community. At RC, there will be snacks and non-alcoholic beverages provided and folks are invited to BYOB (nothing stronger than beer or wine, please!)

Topic: Ash Wednesday - What's behind the traditions surrounding the start of Lent? Is all the focus on death and mortality needed?

Topic: Repentence - If our sins were "paid for" on the cross, why do we confess, ask forgiveness, and do penance?

3/8 - 5:30pm at Riverside Commons

Topic: Fasting - What's the value of Lenten self-denial practices? Should we really fast as Jesus and other biblical figures did?

3/15 - 5:30pm at Tennfold (2408 Lebanon Pike)

Topic: Wilderness - How is wilderness treated in the Bible, and how should we think about it? What does wilderness look like today?

3/22 - 5:30pm at Riverside Commons

Topic: Guilt - Should we feel bad? How bad? Is shame a fundamental part of Lent?

3/29 - 5:30pm at Embers Ski Lodge (2410 12th Ave S)

Topic: Sin and Death - Why did Jesus have to die to absolve our sins? And why did he have to die that way?
